Goodbye for three months!!

As I am going to start my training programme at L&T Infotech Ltd. Mahape I will have to stay in their accomodation for 3 months which happens to be the duration of the training since it would be impossible for me to travel. The training schedule is 12 hours per day and 6 days per week and it takes almost 4-5 hours to travel in a day to reach the training center from my residence. Since we don’t have access to the net I wont be able to post in my blog atleast for 3 months. So long then….

Host Name Resolution

I wonder why havent the mobile companies come up with a scheme which I would prefer calling HNS or the “Host Name Server”. I am thinking it in terms of the DNS or the “Domain Name Server” which is an integral part now in the world wide web without which it would be literally impossible for us to remember the address of a number of sites as they would have to be accessed with their IP address and not as something like “”. So why not apply the same in case of mobiles? For any person, names are the most easiest to remember than a huge list of numbers. Given a minutes and 10 mobile numbers and 10 names a person , without doubt, that person would remember atleast 5 names and not a single number. Its a universal phenomenon and I am surprised as to why the mobile manufacturing companies havent traversed this path.

With an implementation of the concept as an HNS each person round the globe would have a particular ID and no matter which mobile piece he uses his ID would safely be stored in a central server due to which the problems arising in updating the numbers of a person on event of a new card would, for the better, be avoided. Now one problem which can be faced, is the existence of a large number of brands. But according to me several phone numbers can be alloted to the persons ID as we have multiple landline numbers existing for the same address.

So for dialing a person, one has to enter only the person’s ID and the HNS would have all the mobile numbers which are currently being used by the person being called. The HNS would resolve the numbers and if one mobile cannot be reached or say, is out of usage the other mobile would be tried by the HNS. In this way the person calling wont have to dial several numbers of get frustrated in event he hasnt got the changed number of the person whom he intends to call. In this way all miseries can be solved.

But I know there might be several scientists out there who must have tried to make this work but still I am amazed that it hasnt been yet implemented… or am i missing on some huge drawback on this concept!! But all will agree, this concept would definitely make life much much simpler… Digg It! Reddit! Add to Furl Add it to Google Bookmarks Add to Yahoo!MyWeb Add to Spurl Add to BlinkList Fark It! New Year Memories

Well, it did actually turn out to be a bash when I had not expected to be one. Just a call and a couple of more secondary calls and a fast enough executed plan made it into one. We quickly formed a 9 member gang and headed for a boys nite out of the occasion of this new years eve. I never had partied untill this time and since all the guys were my long parted schoolmates I decided atleast this year the image needs some renowation. The 9 of us headed to Vasai gaon where we just had planned to have a look at the Fireworks display which is put up at midnight 12am. But first we made it to a remotely located hotel which was abuzz with the eve’s happenings. People had eventually crowded up since it was a lonesome hotel with a huge customer list and less number of waiters to do the servings so much so that the owner himself was taking the orders. We managed to get everyone of us a seat on the outside since it was a house full and ordered our stuff. Much to our desparation the orders were arriving one after the another with a interval of 30 minutes between each which made our tummies go now-full-now-empty. Anyways who cared, since we were there to have fun. We started our talks with our updates of our lives, our current positions which gradually progressed to jokes, gazing hot chicks which flocked in the hotel, then banging the table, singing songs and later joining the people who were so tired of waiting for their orders that they started dancing to the songs the DJ was playing. The hotel soon got the appearance of a discotheque with all the crowd joining in the merriment. We all were immersed in dancing or sometimes giving budday bumps to each one the members one at a time that we forgot to notice that the clock had struck 12. But soon enough we were alerted by the boom boom of raging fireworks which decorated the midnight sky so lavishly that it resembled a huge lamp hovering on us. It was the start of the fireworks show!! Oh gosh! we missed it but not much.. since the rockets flying high up in the sky made a point to make everyone notice the mesmerising moment of joy. The advent of a brand new year! Hurray! we all shook each others hands and hugged by wishing a year of happiness, properity and success. Finally, after a while our order arrived and ate our stumptfull. Then after another round of freaky dances and all were exhausted but didnt want to give up. It was aleady 2:30 am Some of them stayed while the rest with me made a dash to our home to have some sleep so as to wake up early in the morning with a fullfilled heart and a happy soul and with memories that for at least some moments we were together making merry in the same way we used to in those good old school days where there was innocence, no tensions about the future and a jolly good time. This moment will be embeded in each one of us now as we move further ahead in this new year to succedd in establishing our careers and having a good life which would ensemble all the joys and sweetness that we hoped to have when we all studied together. I will definitely make it a point to do it every year from here on….
